DAVID ROBINSON - CAMP MOHAVEN
Bill Wood shared with us that he had just heard some news that we all need to keep in prayer. David Robinson, Camp Manager of Camp Mohaven, is in the hospital. A tumor has been discovered near the liver area. Physicians are still studying tests etc to see exactly what is happening. Please keep Dave and his family in prayer.
MARK HOLM - OUR WORSHIP LEADER AT AACP CONVENTION
Mark Holm, Loma Linda Academy religion teacher, was our worship and song leader on Sabbath morning at the AACP convention. We just heard that he had a stroke (or several strokes) and is in the hospital. Here is the report: Sometime during the weekend before Christmas, Mark started to feel dizzy and nauseous. He thought it was just the stomach flu that's been going around so he went to bed and tried to sleep it off. A few days went by and he wasn't improving. In fact, he started to get worse. When he started seeming confused his family decided to take him to the ER. That was the day after Christmas. After a night in the ER trying to figure out what was wrong, an MRI showed that he'd suffered a stroke on the right side of his cerebellum. They did emergency surgery to resect that portion of his brain on Wednesday (12/27) afternoon.
Originally his prognosis was great. The family was told he'd be in the hospital for 7-10 days and then have a 6-8 week recovery and be back to normal. However, it was discovered that Mark had a series of mini-strokes all over his brain after the surgery. Once the doctors were able to move the drain from his brain, they were able to give him blood thinners to help prevent the mini-strokes. He is currently getting PT, OT, and speech therapy. Eventually when the doctors feel he’s ready, he will be going to an acute care facility until he recovers. Please keep him and his family in your prayers.
