Camp History
Camp Wawona was founded in 1929. Camp Wawona has 36 deeded acres inside Yosemite National Park on the South Fork of the Merced River.

Information on Property and Camp Facilities
Camp Wawona offers lodging and food service for retreats, conventions, schools and individuals. Each cabin facility has a restroom and cook-top or microwave and fridge. Camp Wawona Lodge holds 54 people with a meeting room and kitchen/eating area. There are three apartments that are hotel-type with amenities. The cafeteria is open for groups of 35 or more.

Camp Programs and Special Features
The year-round program runs from mid-August to mid-June with Bible camps, Pathfinder retreats, outdoor education, family reunions and many conference functions. Being inside Yosemite National Park, there are hundreds of hiking trails, rock climbing, winter sports, and golf courses nearby. Summer camp runs from mid-June to mid-August. Camp Wawona offers a variety of activities to choose from
, High and low Ropes Course, Climbing Wall, Archery and Swimming Pool. The Summer Camp program offers Gymnastics, Basketball, Swimming, Ropes Course and Climbing Wall, Arts and Crafts, Guitar Camp, Videography Camp, Drama Camp, Digital Photography Camp, Aquatics Camp, Cowboy Camp, Indian /Wilderness Camp and much more.

Directions to Camp
From Fresno take state highway 41 north to the south entrance of Yosemite National Park. Turn left after the park entrance. Go 4 miles to Wawona. The golf course is on the left, the hotel is on the right, and a gas station is on the right just after the hotel. Just past the gas station turn right on Forest Drive (it only goes to the right). Do no cross the bridge. Camp Wawona is approximately 2 miles down Forest Drive at the end of the road.


If you are coming from the north it is best to take highway 140 from  highway 99 towards Mariposa.  In Mariposa take highway 49 towards Oakhurst.  In Oakhurst take highway 41 north and follow the directions above.
