Camp History
Big Lake was chartered in 1962. More than 50,000 campers from 32 states and 8 foreign countries have enjoyed its majestic natural setting.

Information on Property and Camp Facilities
Big Lake has playing fields, horseback-riding trails, a barn, stables, riding arena, basketball and volleyball courts, and horseshoe pits. Water activities include a waterski dock, three Ski Nautiques, six jet skis, a canoe dock, a sailing and windsurfing dock, swimming dock and "The Blob". We also have a dining hall and lodge, two campfire bowls, a BMX track, hiking trails, 22 camper cabins, eight staff houses, videography building and editing room, a clinic, camp store, office, line call area, and softball fields.

Camp Programs and Special Features
Big Lake Youth Camp is located 20 miles from Sisters, Oregon (a quaint Western tourist town), on a beautiful 120-acre lake at the base of Mt. Washington. Summer and fall provide spectacular mountain biking, hiking, canoeing, waterskiing, etc. Winter turns Big Lake into a winter wonderland, with some of the finest snowmobiling and snowtubing in the area. The Pacific Crest Trail passes right by the camp, and many hikers ship supplies to Big Lake for pick-up.
