Camp History
Camp Frenda, one of the oldest continuously-operating camps in Ontario, is owned and supported by the Seventh-day Adventist Church. Fred and Edna Hosking donated the original property by Deer Lake, and the camp's name was derived by combining the first names of its donors. Eventually the Ontario Conference sold Frenda and purchased the present site, on Lake Rosseau near Port Carling, about five miles from the village of Minett. The camp offers a well-proven camping program and has provided the ultimate summer for thousands of young people. Everyone is invited to enjoy the camping program, regardless of one's faith. Camp Frenda is accredited by the Ontario Camping Association.

Information on Property and Camp Facilities
Camp Frenda is located in the heart of the Muskoka vacation land and is approximately 200 km from Toronto. Camping authorities recognize Camp Frenda as one of the finest-equipped camps in Canada. The boys' and girls' chalets provide pleasant quarters for everyone, offering full washroom facilities and showers. The kitchen and dining room are carefully maintained to meet the most stringent health and safety standards. Recognizing the importance of food and healthful living in a camp setting, our cooks provide balanced vegetarian meals every day with abundant servings of fresh fruit, salads, and vegetarian entrees. Our health care centre, with a personable, supervised and well-trained staff, provides separate wards for boys and girls. A 135-bed lodge will be enjoyed by all.

Camp Programs and Special Features
Camp Frenda offers a coeducational program for youth ages 8-16. A general program consists of arts, crafts, horsemanship, archery, ropes course, repelling and more. The camp also offers a variety of water activities. Specialty camps are also available in Horsemanship and Waterskiing/Wakeboarding. The spectacular northern lights can be seen during the summer and winter months.
