Camp History The original land was purchased in 1970. Several acres have been added through the years to make a total of 422 acres. The camp is located on Tuttle Creek Lake near Manhattan, Kansas. It has been said that this area has the only sandy beach in Kansas. The camp was built primarily by conference personnel (pastors and office staff) and lay members. Information on Property and Camp Facilities The camp has ten cabins, each housing nine to eleven campers and a counselor. Each cabin has a shower and a restroom. There is a lodge containing a large dining room, kitchen, four staff rooms with two bath-rooms, rec room and stove. There is a nature and craft building, restroom facilities for camp visitors, a shop, ranger's home, horse barn, covered pavilion for camp activities, an office, pool and a medical building. Camp Programs and Special Features Camping season usually starts in June and runs through July. Recent years have provided camps for single moms and kids, Cub Camp, Junior Camp, Camp I and II, Teen Camp, and Blind Camp. The camp is used on weekends by different groups during good weather, at least until November or December, and picks up again in May. Most groups are church groups, family reunions, academy students, and staff. There are facilities for horseback riding, skiing, swimming, sailing, hiking, rock climbing, archery, motorbikes, and crafts. Camp Mission Current camp info goes here. Directions to Camp Take Highway 177/24 west from Manhattan till you come to Highway 13. Go north across the dam for approximately four miles till you get to Carnahan Creek Road. Turn left and go approximately five miles to Booth Creek Road. Turn left and go approximately three miles and then turn left on Sage Brush Road. Follow signs to the camp.
