Camp History
Mountain View Camp & Conference Center, formerly Camp Hope and Camp Chawuthen) is located on 110 acres west of Hope, B.C. Development on this site was started in the early 1970s, and the majority of the development was completed by 1990. This is also the site of the British Columbia camp meeting that draws up to 9000 people for eight days at the end of July.

Information on Property and Camp Facilities
Mountain View Conference Center is nestled among cedars, firs, hemlock, and maples and is surrounded by towering mountains with the lush Fraser River Valley below. Serving the British Columbia churches, our North American Division counterparts, and the public is our joy. The Conference Center has 72 guest rooms with private baths, a dining room seating 250 people, an auditorium seating 400 people and a variety of meeting rooms. Cabins, bunkhouses, 900 camping and RV sites and recreational facilities are available.

At the summer camp and retreat center there are 17 heated cabins that accommodate 130 people. The modern dining hall/kitchen can serve up to 200 people on the upper level. Another smaller assembly area and kitchen located downstairs can service 40 people. There is a campfire bowl located at the base of a 75' rock face that seats 300 people. Other facilities include an indoor/outdoor gymnasium, small nature center, ski boats, canoes, and a craft building. Skiing, hot springs, swimming, sightseeing and hiking are close by.

Camp Programs and Special Features
Mountain View Conference Center is available for church groups, family reunions, weddings, seminars, conventions, etc., year-round. Most weekend bookings need to be made about a year in advance. Mid-week bookings are usually available on short notice. Call (604) 869-2615 for more information.

Mountain View Summer Camp offers a wide range of activities for young people and families in a residential summer camp setting. The camp offers horseback riding, water skiing/wake boarding, canoeing, rock climbing, swimming, wilderness living, nature study, crafts, videography, sports and archery. All of these activities are used as a tool to share Jesus with each camper. During the spring and fall, the camp is available to other groups for retreats and conferences. Mountain View Summer Camp exists for the purpose of leading people to a clearer understanding of God through Jesus.
